Welcome everyone to another exciting episode of Retro Pioneers Podcast. I'm your host, Blackboy J, and I'm here with my co-host, Byron P. Jackson. What's up? have a special guest joining us today by the name of Nae T. And we're about to get into her head a little bit. So introduce yourself, Nae T. Hi guys. I'm Nae T Nay, whichever one feels good to call me. I'm just happy to be here. I'm excited. Thank you. we definitely are grateful for you to join us today on this podcast. And, you know, we're just gonna get to know you a little bit and let everybody else get to know you. And, you know, you seem like a good, genuine person who's passionate for games and YouTube creation. And you're going far, and we're gonna see how far you can get tonight, right? I appreciate it. starting off, right? Can you tell us a bit about yourself and why you started gaming? so I played games ever since I was a kid. I, our first system was an Xbox, and we didn't even get to play it when we first got it. My mom and her boyfriend got it. Yeah. So they, they got an Xbox and they got a couple different games, but one of the first games was halo and, whenever they were in the process of beating it, my mom's character died and I cried because I didn't understand what was going on. I didn't realize that it's just a game and things like that. But they got us some different like kidlike games until we could, know, till they were comfortable for us to play the shooting games and stuff like that. And after that, it was kind of it was kind of off from there. Upgraded from Xbox to Xbox 360. My grandma, she always had like the 64 so we was Mario Yoshi's Cookie just all types of different games I think Yoshi's Cookie was yeah that was like my first probably my first cozy game honestly she got us playstations playing Spyro and things like that is the like earliest games on PlayStation I could remember playing playing things like Mortal Kombat is one of my favorite fighting games, Street Fighter. I used to be really, into like combat and shooting games and things like that. And then my, my taste kind of changed over the years. I'm just, don't know. I just don't feel like I'm as snappy as I used to be. So I think, I think I fit more in the, in the, the cozy gaming side of things. That's what that's called. The wild side we all have like, man, that's tiring. No, it is. It is. It definitely is. I, you know, I was, I was getting pretty good at Mortal Kombat. I used to play Modern Warfare 3 religiously. I mean, I played it religiously for years and got really good at it. And then it was just like one day you just stop. You just stop playing it and that's it. So, it's that adrenaline that you get from all those games, because I get it when I play Halo or Predecessor. It's tough to take it every day. I need something where my heart rate doesn't go up every time I play. It's like... yeah. Yeah, and with and with those games was like a really big trash talker, too. So it was yeah, they a lot of people didn't like me for a while because I was really good at the games and on top of that I talked trash win or lose. And so yeah, so but it was fun. Fun times, good times. You know, I'm not, can't say that I'm good at those games anymore, but. That's awesome, you know, it's funny, can never tell who the trash talkers are until you meet them. I wouldn't have guessed, but that's hilarious though. yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm competitive, yeah. That's probably why I like kinda calmed down on playing them to be honest with you, cause I'm like extremely competitive when it comes to that and so yeah. It's just a part of me, I don't know. Hitting joysticks, all of that, you're not winning. Yeah, absolutely. man. So. you went Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, those were back in the competitive days. What did you do in the competitive days? Did you have any chill games during that time? that were like your getaways. of came up on Sims, played Sims a lot for a little bit, but I think that one was like a pick up and put down for me, like often. It's like I would pick it up, play it, and then put it back down and not play it for like six months. And then maybe pick it up again and same thing. That was a good cozy, I'm trying to think. I like the, also liked racing games. So Midnight Club was probably my favorite older racing game. There's another one. just cannot think of the name of it to save my life. Project Gotham Racing. Dang, cannot. No, was something else. Gran Turismo. I think of the name. It'll come to me. It'll come back to me and then we'll be in middle of something else and I'll be like, hey. Does this sound familiar? You what inspired you to start your YouTube channel and what journey has it been since? so my first YouTube channel was when I was in high school. Me and my cousin just posted really silly videos. And we posted them quite, we would get together on the weekends, you know, record these videos like back to back and post them back to back. And then that just kind of fizzled out and that's channel I don't even access anymore, unfortunately. then I switched over in probably 2017 and started doing just like how-to's, instructional videos and things like that. But at the time I was doing it because it was content that I thought was popular at the time and I thought people wanted to consume. And so then I switched from that because I really wasn't into it. And I was like, well, if I'm not into it, then I shouldn't be putting, you know, all of this work into it because it's going to show it's going to reflect in what I'm producing. And so I switched to doing like vlogs and things like that because in 2018, I kind of got into music and wanted to start recording music. Those things are buried. They'll never be discovered ever. They'll never come to light. But I was doing the vlogging thing, just kind of showing my process. At the time I started a music podcast where I would talk about artists who were like coming up. And things like this really, it's really crazy to see because some of the artists that I would speak about on the podcast are now like really popular artists to this day. So it was really cool to see the progression. And then I kind of like slacked off on doing that. just kind of continued doing vlogs and things like that. But then I slacked off and then beginning of this year, I said, okay, here we go. We're gonna, we're gonna, you know, fire up the whole YouTube again. And I started doing the same kind of content. wish it's like life content, you know, I'm in my 30s and I was like, you know, I really I want to create I'm a creative I want to create something I know I want to put things into YouTube. I just didn't exactly know what So I was just doing like a little revamp there and at the time I was still gaming I'm still you know live streaming things like that beforehand, but this year I was like kind of looking at what I was doing. And we were in the process of moving to Charlotte. And I was like, okay, well, let me try recording some gaming videos. Let me just kind of see and go from there. I had a lot of fun with it. And so I was like, you know what? I think this might be it. And so we packed up, moved to Charlotte. was whole experience. And I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I was like, you know, I really have fun playing games. I really enjoy recording the content. It's just, it's a lot of fun to me. The only thing I don't like is editing. That's not fun. It's the worst. Literally the worst. Yeah, shout out to everybody who does it and does it really well, because that's just not my strong suit. It's not. But... think about movie trailers and TV trailers again, right? Exactly. Yeah, like they the the effort that gets put into a lot of these things is just amazing. They got it. They got it because I don't. I don't know. I absolutely don't. it's a skill. A lot of YouTubers, everyone starts out not knowing, it just, you're gonna obviously be editing more videos, so you're gonna learn little tricks, little quick shortcuts. man, if I hadn't of known that six months ago, it would've saved me. somebody to do it, that's the end of that. That's the end of that. Yeah, we're cutting that immediately. That'll be the first thing I spend money on, I'm telling you right now. Yeah. Yes, yeah. one, a lot of YouTube editors out there. A ton. can just throw up a post and 60 people will comment. 100%. Dude, I barely even have 20 Twitch followers and I was just streaming one day like a month ago and somebody on Instagram, an artist was starting, they were like hounding me to do art for my channel. I was like, I have 20 followers. They were like, follow my page. I was like, I didn't even solicit this. Where is this coming from? yeah, they are persistent. believe me those on bots as those graphic designers or editors or whatever you want to call them bots. They are real on social media. You will be having all these followers are all these subscribers and it'd be those people and they not real because you know, they either using multiple pages to to get your services, get you to get their services, but it don't even be worth it. You know, so it's sometimes be kind. So, Natee, what are your favorite games of all time? Like your three favorite games of all time and why? favorite Mortal Kombat. I just think it's a great, great game. yeah, all together. think that, I think they're wonderful. They're so much fun. Borderlands definitely. I think that one is I just cannot wait for the new one. I can't wait I'm just so ready I beat those at that and it's probably because those were the first games that I ever played all the way through and beat and then still went back and continued to play and do the quests and there the rest of the things I didn't accomplish and Let me see last one Yeah, two great ones so far. Great franchises. there's like, my brain is just blanking and I and I don't even want to say like, I'm sure what everybody would say in this is like Mario or something along those lines. I'll probably have to say Halo just because of all the good childhood memories I had from it as well. It's like the whole the whole Halo franchise is good. Yeah. of those choices. Let me dive into those a little bit. with Mortal Kombat, are you playing Mortal Kombat 1? so the the one that I can remember so No, no, Right, okay. Yeah, cuz I'm like wait I played 11 And then I thought Eleven was fantastic. was it really was it I enjoyed playing it a lot I haven't played in a long time though but I definitely have fun playing it when I did and then whenever I go to like a an arcade or something like that I always go on the the exactly yeah absolutely absolutely this is me smashing the button not not doing combos just smashing the button What I love about Eleven is it gives you that story. I mean, as grandiose as it is, it's just, it's fun to, I mean, the characters look great. All the voice acting in Eleven is amazing. It takes you like through space and time. I, hadn't played a Mortal Kombat game since, I'm a fan of the series as well, but God, the one that I played seriously, I think before Eleven, I think I played a little bit of Ten. just a little bit, not much of the story. But gosh, I was blown away by the story. I was like, I need to get back into the series. was like. shaved. to come back to, for me. icing on the cake, man. Well, Mortal Kombat 9 and then Mortal Kombat 10. I think I'm in the same boat to where I didn't play. I played Mortal Kombat 11 like actually like seriously than the other ones I just played because I wanted to fight. That was it. Yeah, it's amazing because they came. mean, they've taken the I would honestly say that more common is probably more popular to Street Fighter nowadays, right? A little bit, just a little bit. But back in the day, when it first started, it really had to catch up. Street Fighter had like dominated everything, but now. Well, second. Tekken, yeah, Tekken's big. Tekken's big. Tekken's not as big as it was. Tekken kind of lost some of its mind share. Tekken was like the PS, PlayStation King of fighting games, but. I don't know, guess gaming has gotten so big now and there's so many other things to take your attention away. Fighting games kinda had to, they struggled to find where they fit. And I think Ed Boon with Mortal Kombat and giving them that great story and these awesome cutscenes really kinda nails where they should lie. They should give you a good story for the fighting game. mean, that's, know, doing a campaign is so fun. Yeah, I definitely agree. Because the competitive side's always going to be there. People are always going to want to battle each other. That's just like... But for the people who aren't that great, give them a chance to play through awesome campaign and then do a little competitive on the side, you'll probably sell more copies. yeah, most definitely. But it's just, you know, when it come down to these fighting games, it's just like we talked about in previous episodes, you know, that it's just, they're getting greedy to the point where they're charging you for a character that should already be playable by unlocking them through arcades or different type of modes. Yeah, it's just, it's ridiculous right now, man. And I'm actually losing. for fighting game, because before when I was younger, it was fighting games and it was racing games that took my interest in gaming. Like it made me fall in love. I mean, besides the 2D platforms, but you know, when it came down to 3D platforms, those was the games that just captured my heart when it came down to gaming. And to see where they're going now, it breaks my heart. Yeah, yeah, there's hope though, there's hope. Absolutely. so. So, Naiti, what's your favorite game genre and how do you decide what to play? Hmm, I would have to say like life Sims are probably my favorite game genre And basically if they have like the main elements, there's this one game It's a solo dev and it's called Living the Life. And it's like the Sims, but you get to move the character around and basically just interact. It's like GTA, but minus the violence, pretty much. And it's just been really cool to see this particular game just over the years because he's just put so much into it. And just being a solo dev is just it's really amazing to see where it came from to where it is now. But just things like that, just like the different elements I like. I'm a foodie, so I don't know. I just like that element in my games. So if I can cook food in the game, that's great. I love that. If I can change clothes, things like that, I think that's really cool. some sort of decorative like feature. So if I can like build a house and decorate it or things like that, I really enjoy those things about it or just kind of like building something up and like running it. So a lot of like the simulator games, like restaurants, simulator cafes, really things like that. I have a lot of fun playing. It's just like one of those things that you can just get lost in and you know, when you finally realize what time it has been three hours in here. Okay, okay. Do you remember a moment in gaming that left you speechless? Share your story with us. Hmm. Indigo Park. You know, but you know that that i'm trying to i'm just really trying to dig deep and think like is there anything that i've been just really like shocked by But it just if we're speaking like recent yeah, definitely into go park because it wasn't what I was expecting at all I thought I went into it thinking that it was gonna be just light work, you know and and it definitely fooled me. it's just, like I said, it's just the story, you know, behind things for me, as far as the games go. And it's just really cool to see how the story unfolds and how they've set it up to where you'd be able to discover these different elements of it. Because with Indigo Park, you come in and you meet this, I think he's a raccoon, Rambly, and he's so nice and so sweet. So I think that element of the game just kind of makes like gives you a false sense of security. And then when you really start getting into it, it's just like, okay, so it's not as sweet as it seems. So definitely Indigo Park definitely gave me a shock of my life in very various parts of that gameplay for sure. Okay. Do you remember a moment in gaming that had some type of feel to it where you could relate to it or have you ever played a game that made you to the point where you just was so disgusted with would have to say just going off of what I can like think of is my I'm playing a game called Ooblets as a series on my channel and It's just at the beginning of starting the series, I don't know, I'm just, my personality is what it is. And so I just go in there, you know, just very open to the things and how they have the character set up is when you first go in, everybody's just like really standoffish. And I feel like, you know, I feel like I'm a nice person. So I go in there, you know, cheerful, just, hey, how's it going? And then the first couple of messages are like, who are you? but I can. from the AI are the players. Yeah, the characters in the game. So they've written them to be a little standoffish a little bit like Why are you here? no exactly 100 and i did not expect that yeah no and i think that's probably part of what's kept me going in that game in particular it's just because the it's the character development so it's like the longer that you spend there the more things that you help out with the people become more inviting so i was kind of beefing with the mayor because she was like i don't know she was just different stuff and it was like, why are you being like that? Like, I just came to your island because I'm trying to move in. Like, I'm starting a new life and you're over here being weird to me. Like, why are you acting like that? And so. an indie game is that level of writing that gives you some more context into where a conversation can go, people being, you know, not just like, hey, gamer, here's your magic sword. Exactly. Yeah, pretty much. It's been a it's been you know, it's been a journey trying to get that good level of like relationship with the mayor in particular But now that I've completed so many quests and then these things like it's like we're basically besties now we cool It's all good now Ooblets yes. Yes. Yep know the developer? gum gum gumberland I'm probably just butchering that it's like Gumberland or something like that I cannot remember it off the top of my head I see you have some videos on there. Whole series. of fun. It's like it's like Pokemon, but a little sweeter. It's like the the ooblets you dance battle them instead of fighting your dance battle. It's just it's really cool. It's a lot of fun. Okay, so what challenges has you faced since you started your YouTube journey and how did you overcome those challenges? challenges would definitely be just kind of coming into the gaming scene not being like like a hardcore gamer, guess I'm not like a, you know, a lot of people play, you know, first person shooters and you know, I have encountered people, if you didn't play this game, then you're not really, you know, so it was just coming into the scene and not feeling like an imposter. And it's just like trying to, I don't know, just create my own lane and not be, not try to. be something I'm not. And that's my biggest thing is I just want to be my authentic self. That's the only thing I can do is be me so and you know, I At this point that's what I felt like I was trying to do with my previous content was you know put on a face and it was just like no I have to be myself and so that's one thing that I said with this gaming channel I'm gonna be me, you know, so Regardless if you like it great welcome. Yeah, but if not, then you know move along so I'm just, you know, that's definitely the biggest thing is just, and then just sticking to it. Cause motivation is hard. It is, hard keeping motivation and especially when life be life and motivation is extremely hard. But yeah, we just, you just gotta push through. You just gotta push through those moments where you feel like you don't want to, you just have to push through. Cause once you do, you'll feel so much better afterwards. Of course, of course. Now you hit the nail on the head, life does be life-in for real. And that's the thing that's kind of drives me crazy about the gaming community is the first people sometimes onto the scene when new creators show up is the gatekeepers. And as you mentioned earlier, don't feel like an imposter at all, we're always going to need new creators and there's new people coming into gaming who were gamers before coming back and want to create more. And I hate that when people are like, if you haven't played this game, then you're not a- or if you haven't put a thousand hours into Call Duty this month. It's like guys, listen, as we get older, people have less time, and also there's just different avenues or different things to like. You go over there and watch those Call of Duty videos. I wanna hear, be here, doing my life sims, playing Ooblets, creating a community. So I say rock on, know, gosh, the gatekeepers in the gaming community are like, Yeah. Excuse me? Yeah, it's like and then also just being majority and the like just cozy gaming like chill gaming and things like that. It's just it's a very common like certain personality that you see. It's just like the sweet TQ T girl. There's nothing wrong with that. But listen, this is not me 24 seven. I have my fro out 90 % of the time I don't have makeup or lashes on like or nails for that matter. So I just thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That's all I had. this The blue works, the blue works. I'm loving it. it, but I just and that's why I always say I just Have to authentically be myself so word so you're not gonna hear that he's from me in my videos you're gonna hear me going back and forth these characters because Because that's just who I am, but it's just not fitting into that box and just kind of you know being who I am and whoever likes it great and if you don't then there are thousands of other people who might fit what you're looking for. That's perfect. how do you come up with your ideas for your content? And what is your creative process? I do a lot of research on games. just because I want to play something that I know I'm gonna enjoy playing. and something I know I'm gonna enjoy making like a series about. or if it's gonna be a one-off, then, you know, I'll make it that. But mostly I like to do series. and so I like to do a lot of research on the game. I watch gameplay of it. I watch the game trailers, I read up on the games, I look at other games that the developers have made if they have made any, just to make sure that is something I want to commit to. I just I don't want to post things on my channel that I can't like I don't really or I don't like and things like that. Nice. That's some thoughtful preparation there though. Doing a lot of research. You lot of creators, they don't do that legwork and that's gonna show in your content. Definitely, it always makes things more professional. It's funny, because I'll see some bigger streamers or a bigger YouTuber and they'll be talking about a game that they maybe just came out, but there's been like lot of articles about some information. And they kind of play that thing where like, I don't know how to do this. It's like they're playing a little bit of dumb. I'm like, but you're in this realm and you should kind of already know about this feature in the game and this thing, or this plot point or something. It's it's very baseline, but you know, when you do that research, that's gonna show up through in the content. So that's real special. Yeah. So what's been your favorite video so far today? Definitely the Indigo Park. And that the biggest reason is just because I got a lot further than I thought I I was sure that I was going to give up and not continue pushing through on some of the parts of that game. especially, yeah, during the part where that lion got up and walked away on the stage. That was the part where, you know, I had to make that decision whether I was just going to stick to it or if we were just going to end it. And I stuck through it. So happy. on one of your shorts on YouTube. It had me laughing because I, me personally, when I saw that line, was like, hey, what you gonna do? I was like, sitting there, was like, man. Like, why, why? Have, so has there been any surprises or like moments or milestones in your creation content journey? Definitely just the growth and support. for sure. Because like I said, I've had just different YouTube channels and I just haven't seen the same thing from them. And I know the game the gaming community is different because you know, a lot there's a lot of supportive people just within this community alone, but just the growth and then the support of people that have come through that I don't know. Literally don't know these people from the bottom of my shoe, but they come through and support and encourage. There's one person in particular that literally from the start when we met on threads, they have been just so supportive. They have reposted my content, they've commented on my content, they've reposted me on several social media platforms of theirs just trying to push me out there. And so that's, it's just been really cool to see and I've just been so appreciative. And their main thing is they've always said is I just want to basically they, they just want to pour into me so I can pour into other people. And so I've been doing exactly that. Anybody who I see who's on the same journey as me, I'm going to support you just as much as I'm being supported because why not share? Why not, you know, spread that kind of narrative? So. at the end of the day, it's all about helping each other grow to our full potential. that was kind of the reason why I approached you and asked you did you want to be on the podcast because I like your content foremost. And it's just the simple fact that you had something, you got this flair. when it come down to your content creation. And it's to the point where it's like, I wanna help her grow even more. You don't need no one to help you grow because your personality alone, what sparks other people to watch your content. But it's just a simple fact that we all as content creators, gamers or streamers, we all need to push each other. to become the best version of ourselves. you you're not gonna knock apart. And everyone who's in our chats right now is, I don't know if you've been noticing, they rooting for you. Yeah, they rooting for you. you know, you got a strong army behind you and you know, they wanna see you win. And regardless of anything, you're gonna win because that's just your- I appreciate that. Thank you. We on the road. Absolutely. So community, everyone who's the chat right now, or watching the podcast right now, I'm sorry. You got any questions that y'all wanna ask Natey? Hmm, let's see, let's see. Someone says, yes, she will win. That's my mama. wins the next game. Hey, mom's got a support. Absolutely, 100%. that's where it starts with family Yes, yeah, her and my sister are biggest supporters in this entire universe. They have been my rocks in my day one, so 100%. Next game, I'm starting a new series at the beginning of the year with the new game, so I'm really excited. It's called Chef RPG. Chef RPG, okay. Gonna be cooking. like, yes, it's like Stardew Valley, but run in a restaurant. I'm looking forward to it. Now you said earlier, I can't remember if this was during the podcast or before, that you're a foodie, I'm a foodie myself. What's your go-to cuisine? I love Asian food. I love Asian food. After that would be Mexican and then anything pasta. Now here's the question, ramen or pho? ooh if i'm making it ramen if i'm if i'm buying it for sure that's a very interesting answer. All right, okay. Do you not make pho, is that why? You're don't make pho. Okay, okay, nice. Nice, nice, nice. Yeah, I love ramen, I love pho. I feel like I'm in my pho phase now. understandable. do give ramen the edge more, now I'm just like, it's like a me and my blue period, my fall period. Yeah, I feel that. Fuzz good. It really is. stuff. What about seafood? Seafood fan? I love seafood. my gosh. Crawfish. Give me my goodness. Woo. Yeah. my gosh. I used to be I used to be before moving there. I didn't like getting my hands dirty with food at all. I still don't like getting my hands dirty. But I deal with it a lot better now. And that's because I moved to Houston. And yeah, seafood boils crawfish boils. my goodness. Yeah. Yeah. Love me some crawfish. does and. You know what's crazy is I don't even like Papa Do's. I went there one time and I was just severely disappointed. It was just way overpriced and it just, it felt like, it felt like Olive Garden quality. Yes, exactly. I was not a fan. Yeah. And a lot of people, that's an unpopular opinion because Papa Do's is like one of the staples out there. Yeah. Nope. I haven't been to a Papa Dose probably in a decade, so I'm have take your word for it. Yes, not, not for the price. They could keep it. Bumbles like they got good drinks though. They do. I'm not even gonna lie, they do. They definitely do. They have good drinks. That is the one good thing that I did get from there when I went is the drinks are good, but the food that could, yeah, I'm not spending $60 on one plate of food. That's crazy. It is crazy. Okay, so, my bad, no, no, go ahead. What's been the most memorable interaction you had with a fan or? I guess just speaking about the person I was speaking about earlier and just their words of encouragement to me and it's like on a very consistent basis when I speak to them all the time. It's you know, you're gonna do great, you're a star, you're gonna go far, like your potential has been unlocked and now it's taken off. Like that's just because I never expected to receive that sort of support from an absolute stranger but you gotta excuse my dog, she's acting a fool back there. nah, nah, nah. gonna ask about the dog, what's his name? Her name is Aria and she is yeah She I'm not giving her attention. So she just doing doing too much basically, but I've had her since she was almost two. So she's gonna be nine this night next year That's my that's my road dog Now, I know you play a lot of Life Sim, you're playing Ooblets, you're Chef RPG. Are there any games in other genres you're looking to that might be coming out in the next year or so you're looking forward to? Yes, actually. There's a game called Light No Fire. And it's like, you guys, you seen that one? man, you're speaking my language there. I'm so excited for that. I really am too. And it's not my usual like go to game. But just the the things that I've heard about it just watching the trailer and things like that. I'm really excited for that game to come out. I'm really excited. I'm super excited for it to come out. It seems like it's gonna be so much fun. Cross your fingers, I'm hoping that this Thursday at the Game Awards we'll see another trailer. I'm hoping, because that's when they announced it last year, it was at the Game Awards. And so I hope this Thursday we'll see something again, man. just the bird mounts. I thought you could fly on like a sparrow, a giant sparrow. I was like, that'd be cool. it was in and within that game there's like the elements being able to build a base and things like that and that's why I'm like and then it's like the survival aspect of it so I'm like okay I think this might be up my alley it may not be as cozy as I usually do but this might be one of them games I have to I have to give a spin yeah like anthropomorphic creatures too, like bunnies and think like squirrel. can be like a... whatever. It's gonna be cool. We'll see. Hopefully Thursday. Skyrim. It's very much giving Skyrim. Okay. Skyrim, it's giving all the cool things like old storybooks. What's the one, is it Peter Rabbit or something? I'm I'm very much looking forward to that one for sure. and then in other ways it's I guess it's more in the the life sim genre too, but it's called nivalis I think that's you pronounce it. I don't know I don't know but that's how I pronounce it. and it's like it's like a sims meets cyberpunk so I'm really looking forward to that one too nivalis n-i-v-a-l-i-s Okay. Okay. so I think that's gonna it's I think it's set to release sometime next year, but I don't they don't have a specific date yet. So So that one's like a little more, it's a life symbol, more sci-fi. Exactly. Yep. That sounds right up my alley actually, because I'm like, I played old Sims games, but gosh, I never stuck with them, but man, sci-fi is like, okay. it from from the what the trailer showed you'll be able to physically control the character and things like that And it's it but like I said, it's like cyberpunk minus the fighting him I think minus the fighting of violence I can't remember if there's like an enemy element to it or not. But but yeah, I'm that that one looked really really cool Okay, okay. And that's, I think that's it off the top of my head. That's all I could think of. Those two games are the ones that are like right there. Absolutely. Yeah. So what do you think makes a gaming community thrive and how do you foster that into your spaces? just being genuine and doing it because it's something that you enjoy. I think that's what makes makes it strong. and I think that's what makes people want to come back and interact with you and watch you and things like that. And so I just, when it comes to my community, I just want them to know who I am and you know, know that this is authentically me. This is who I am. I can't be nobody else. I don't want to be anybody else. So yeah, I just show up as me every single day and whatever I do. Okay, okay. So are you a retro gamer slash modern gamer? And if so, do you prefer console or PC? I am not a retro gamer at all. yeah, I, I like old games, but it's not, I'm not, that's not my, that's not my good. Like, it's not the first thing I'm going to put the, yeah, I'm not going to, that's not the first thing I'll pick up compared to something new. I probably played a new thing first. And if I, if I'm done with this and I probably got to the retro, and I, I used to be a hardcore X-Box, you know, girly, but I PC. PC all the way, all day, every day. I love PC. I got my gaming PC in 20... I got this one in 22. And yeah, ever since then, we've been rocking ever since. So yeah, I'm gonna stick beside her. She's the G. And I think PC games are super cool. It's opened up like a whole new world to me in terms of gaming. So. Okay, okay. What's about PC gaming that intrigues you? Just the freedom, the amount of games out there that there are when it comes to PC. The developers, they're making all of these different PC games. just being able to see how these games come about. just think, I don't know. And then just what goes into building a PC. I know nothing about it, but it's just really cool to see what goes into it, what some people put into it, how people do their setups. I think it's just really cool all together. It's new world for me because like I said, I was on Xbox for the longest time and then kind of switched over to PC and I haven't looked back. Left it in the dust. Yeah, a little bit. You know, I still I still play Minecraft with my family on the Xbox game thingy on the computer, but that's probably about as much as my Xbox account sees. Yeah, you can see. PC Game Pass. So what's a game everyone loves, but you can't get into? I Did you say that she can't get into? Gosh, I'm trying to think of it. Cause I see someone mentioned when you gonna do Modern Warfare 3 again. So are you a Call of Duty far as Black Ops 6 type girl, gamer? so that's my sister. Back in the day, as a family, me, her, my mom. my mom's ex-husband, we all played modern warfare 3 as a family. we and like I was the most competitive out of everybody, but everybody played and we played religiously. So it was, you know, we would get off of work and play for hours. Lunchtime came. We were playing, you know. So as far as Mourner, I probably never touched that game ever again. I'll probably never see that again. Yeah, we're just going to leave it as good memories. I'm sorry. I I think it's one of those things where I played it and I played it for a while. And, know, we made great memories. We we whooped tail on that game as a team. But, you know, it's it's where it's at now. Okay. is it the same kind of feeling? you see yourself, know Halo was kind of more of like a watching experience, like a let's play, because you're a little, I guess, for it. Do you see yourself coming back to get into maybe some Halos later? You know, me and my younger sister actually started, we started playing through all of the Halos. And I think we're, I think we're at Halo 3? No, no, no. No, that's not the same, I got, I have a lot of siblings. I have a lot of siblings. I can't remember which Halo we've left off. It's the... I started posting the videos on my other YouTube and I just didn't switch that video over to this new channel. But yeah, we... yeah. I can't remember. Well, I know we beat the first one. I think we're on the second one. I think we left off on the second one, if I'm not mistaken. But yeah, I love Halo. I absolutely love Halo. Halo 2 is probably my favorite one. Yeah, nice. But yeah, definitely come back around and finish it. want to. I want to play all of them. Because I don't think I've played the rest of them after Halo 2. And if I have, was maybe only bits and pieces of them. Okay. What's next for your channel and any assigned projects or goals you got in store that you want to share with us? What's next is just staying consistent, honestly. The new series that's coming up after the beginning of the year with Chef RPG and just hoping to do some collabs in this next year, hoping to to collab with some people and just continue to see the same growth and uplift everybody just like I've been. Okay, okay. Where can all listeners follow you and support your work? You can follow me at Instagram at natee. I think it's underscore gaming if I'm not mistaken And then I'm on YouTube same thing natee gaming And then I think I'm I think my thing on threads is natee.gaming too I can't remember if I do the underscore or the dot half the time. So But I'm pretty sure if you just search natee gaming. I'll probably pop up somewhere. So Okay. So finally, if you could leave one message for a fellow gamer or creator, what would it be? If this is something that you truly enjoy doing, then pursue it with everything you have in you. Keep pushing, don't give up, because the day that you decide to give up that next day could be the day that it hits. So you have to just push through and know that what you're doing is something that you really want to do and you truly enjoy. Okay. Anyone in the chat? Do y'all have any more questions y'all want to ask Natey? and put God first. That should have been the first thing out of my mouth. Not even gonna lie. That should have been the first thing out of my mouth. God comes first. God comes first in everything that you do. But after that, if it's something that you truly enjoy and you wanna do, then just push through, just lock in. Okay, okay, anything else you got to ask Miss Natee, Byron? Man, I can go on for another hour, I'm sure. But no, was a pleasure having you with us. I think you've got a bright, bright future ahead of you in the streaming and content creation realm. I'll be tuning in. I just subscribed to your YouTube channel. I need to get on over on Twitch. Maybe I can, you know, we could do some streaming together if we have to find some games we can all coalesce around and I don't know, maybe it's Halo. right. I'm open to anything. I'll try anything. I'll try anything once. Black Ops 6. I wouldn't mind getting back into it. I like the last Black Ops I played was too. pass, so. Sweet, okay, cool. I have to look into it, but I've always I like you know I've never not liked you know the shooter game, so I'm down I'm down just know I suck these days I suck See yeah, it's been a minute Well, we thank you so much, Natee, for your time. we're grateful that you showed up on our podcast.
